Hey everyone, so I have a question that maybe someone can help me with, My boyfriend ( Matthew Myrick ) who is on here has epilepsy, he has had insurance through his career being a teacher, the teaching career is not treating him good so we’ve been discussing moving and him looking at different prospects but we seem to be stuck because if he gets a new job he wont have insurance and even when he gets insurance it will be considered a pre-existing condition, is there any way around this? without insurance he cant afford his epilepsy medications, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again :)

Hopefully the new job’s insurance will cover him… Not having a gap in insurance is one of the things they look for, so hopefully he can find a job before he resigns/moves. Many insurances will take pre-existing epilepsy conditions as long as they are controlled well, and a doctor’s note may actually help. I just found this eHow article about getting insurance with epilepsy. Maybe it is of some help: eHow: How to Get Medical Insurance With Epilepsy
