The Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut hosted their 26th annual Mud Volleyball Tournament this past weekend. This epilepsy fundraising event looks like a bunch of fun!
An overnight downpour, rainy morning and perfectly dreary skies were a dream combination for the hundreds of people who duct taped old sneaks to their feet and rallied to support the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut’s 26th Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament.
Team names ranged from the tame — Splat & Whitney, We Play Dirty, Carpe Diem, Ridin Muddy, Mudiators, Vicious & Delicious, Nerdy & Dirty; Elmer Mudds, Love That Dirty Water — to the R-rated — Mudder Stuckers, Unprotected Sets, Muddy Fockers, Grannie Panties, Angeli Lawn Car Bush Trimmers, Thunda Frumunda, Muddy Sweaty Balls, Bazzingas, Bad Mudda Suckers, 6 Jerks and 2 Squirts.
Local businesses like the Shadow Room, La Vita Gustosa, Gorilla Graphics, NoRA Cupcake Co., Dave’s Sunrise Restaurant, Crossfit Religion and Stew Leonard’s united to raise funds for epilepsy research.
Last year’s event broke the previous year’s team record, with 192 teams (and over 20 on a waiting list). The event raised close to $55,000 which will be used to help people with epilepsy and their families throughout Connecticut.
